Finally Moab!

At the beginning of March we went to Moab, Utah with Wes' work for a vacation. We had a great time. The kids did great in the car, we spent 6-7 hours a day in the car for 3 days in a row. The weather was nice 55-60 degrees, and Megan had Mamma Corrie and so many friends to play with. Sarah loved the up and downs of the jeep ride. The hotel had a hot tub and that was fun for the kids and kids at heart. As fun as the vacation was, we have decided that when we plan our Disneyland trip (in 3 years)we are not driving with the kids. It is well worth the price of the plane ticket.

Baby animal days and Easter

Sorry I haven't been blogging as much lately. I've been back to work and find that my nights off are spent with the laundry rather than my computer. We had so much fun at baby animal days this past weekend. Megan's favorite attraction, the pony rides. Megan had the choice of either riding the ponies or seeing the baby bears, Wes said he would only stand in one line. At the front of the pony ride line Megan saw that one pony had a PURPLE saddle blanket, (purple is the new pink at our house).
Fortunatley Megan got to ride that pony.

Sarah's 3 month pictures

Here are Sarah's 3 month photos. She is such a cutie, if you ask me, Wes on the other hand is still dealing with a terrible mama's girl. When I was pregnant I just wanted someone to like me best, well now that it's here, I think I should have been more careful for what I wished for. We took Sarah on her first famiy vacation last weekend. We went to Moab, and went jeeping. (thank you to Wolfords for such a fun company party.) Both girls do so well especially since we were in the cars for seven hours friday, saturday and sunday. I will post pics of the trip later.

catching up

Alot has been happening in the last 2 weeks. First Megan and Sarah had well checkups. They are both healthy and on track with their milestones.
Sarah at 2 months Weight 12# 7oz (85%)
Height 22 1/2 inches (50%)
Megan at 3 years Weight 31# (59%)
Height 37 1/2 inches (57%)
Megan celebrated her 3rd birthday at Chuckie Cheeses with her cousins. We had a great time, although it was incredibly busy. Megan is a little chatterbox. The only downfall is that she has picked up some choice words. Why is it that the words she speaks the most clearly are the swear words? It really is only 2 words, the darn-it word, and my favorite one she created on her own, "butt-a**", yes it is a hyphenated word when she says it. We are really working on this........
Valentines day was always my favorite holiday, Megan's daycare had a Valentine party and exchanged valentines, Megan loved it. Wes and I decided to buy our own valentine gift and tell the other person thank you. I guess it is better to get something that you will enjoy, and not be suprised then vise versa. So, Thanks for my big framed picture of the girls, Wes, and you're welcome for your new chip for your truck. Lastly, I returned to work. YAY! I wasn't as nervous to go back this time because I knew that Wes could handle it, and recently Sarah has become a happier baby. She has the most contagious smile. It has been kinda rocky this time around only because Sarah doesn't sleep quiet as well as Megan did, Sarah is sleeping 7 hours in a row at night, but it is the wrong hours, she wakes up at 4 am. With time and when we we start solids (I hope)she will sleep better.

Megan Turns 3

Megan will be three this sunday. I can't believe how fast time flies. These are the pictures from Meg's 3rd birthday and of course Sarah's 2nd month. I started a bad thing when I took Megan to get her picture taken every month for the 1st year,I have to truck 2 kids into a studio and be really quick on my selections now, but who can really put a price on the memories, right? It was quite an adventure today to get pics done, the mall had a gas leak, so we had to go home and come back. The girls were really grumpy, but somehow the girl at JCP managed to get some cute pics. (Megan had to pretend to be a model). They both fell asleep on the ride home so I could make a post really quick.

8 weeks old!

We made it this far. Sarah has changed so much, it seems like it has happened almost overnight. She is super chunky now (I will update you on her stats at her appt next week.) also she is becoming a happier baby, and yes sleeping better! She slept 5 hours straight last night! Megan is such a good big sister, we are getting a routine down and now that Sarah is a bit older, we dare leave the house a bit more. We went to the Tree House Museum last week and had such a fun time. I have just over three weeks of maternity leave left, and I have spent some time thinking about why I want to go back to work and I am posting my list of "why I like to work".
#1 Appreciation. I feel that when I work Wes appreciates what I do all day because he gets a little taste of what it is like to be alone with the kids. I also appreciate Wes more for his efforts at home and at work. I miss my family while I am at work and really make more of an effort to be pleasant at home, since that is where I would rather be anyway.
#2 Daycare is really a good thing for us.(Megan goes once a week) There are some pitfalls to daycare, such as more children and sharing germs and what not, but, when Megan jumps out of the car because she is so happy to see Debbi and this whole maternity leave she has been calling Debbi on her pretend cell phone, I know she enjoys the interaction with the kids there. (I appreciate Debbi as well, anyone who can allow other peoples kids into her home and love and care for them the way Debbi does, has a special place reserved for them in heaven).
#3 Money. This is the most obvious reason for work.
#4 Work friends. I really work with a great group of people at Logan Regional, and cant wait to see them all again.
#5 Shifting Priorities. As I have been home for the last 8 weeks, there is this strange self imposed feeling that my house should be spotless, laundry ought to be done, I should magically purchase a months worth of groceries on $5, and a gourmet meal should be ready each night. As a working mother, I feel my house doesn't have to be spotless, laundry can be wrinkled, dinner can be quick and simple, waffles, cold cereal, or take out are just fine, and groceries are allowed to have some convience foods. I feel that when I work my time is better spent with my family, and I can let some of the other things at home slide.
So in three weeks when I return to work, it will be hard, but I will do it happily.
